Iowa City Bests

I got the pleasure last weekend to visit my alma mater town which is one of the most lovely college centered towns on earth. The streets are filled with art and literacy and food that will have you obsessing.

Iowa City also houses some of the most unique vintage & local clothing stores in the Midwest.

Left- Tie clip for the man in your life- $3

Right- Color Burst Shield Ring- $10 Both purchased at Artifacts (on the Northside)

Gold Bangles in the background $3-$6 purchased at Revival (ped-mall)

Fantastic red romping shoes- $16 White Rabbit  (ped-mall area)

Cropped yellow shirt- Revival (ped-mall)

Revival is to Iowa City as Scout is to Omaha. (If you don’t live in Omaha or have never been to Scout that means that Revival is an A+)

Artifacts is a cramped little place where you could look around at antiques for hours and day dream about living life in the early 60s.

White Rabbit is meticulously thought out and well put together. You are guaranteed to find something there that was either hand made or hand picked just for you.

I miss Iowa City but as you can see I got a few delights to hold me over until my next trip back (and I’m not just talking about the burger).

Weekend Style

Audibly Nutritious is a residicy of Djs the 2nd Friday of every month at the House of Loom. It’s great. There was a free keg and this month they blasted 90s jams all night long. It was prefect! My outfit was inspired by my everlasting endearment for the show Saved By The Bell.

It’s weird- I watch Saved By the Bell and every thing looks like it would be in a modern Urban Outfitters catalog.

My Laser Storm shirt was thrifted in Lincoln, NE and I got my awesome neon yellow Dickies short in Brooklyn, NY.

My zoo day outfit was much softer and feminine. Pale green skirt from Scout in Dundee (Omaha) and a see through victorian inspired blouse from Macy’s in STL. I’ve had my Doc Marten sandals for 10 years. I begged and begged my mom for them when I was in junior high and I finally got a pair for my 14th birthday. Good investment momma!

Happy start of spring fashion! Be adventurous!
